Camerata Salzburg is back at Is Sanat to offer another top quality concert true to its motto “In Search of Excellence”. Matured into a tradition-filled chamber orchestra with over 50 years of history, the orchestra consists of young, motivated musicians who play with a commitment and a joy in music-making which is infectious. Camerata Salzburg is a mirror image of the international world through which it travels. Its over 20 nationalities reflect various cultures, but all are united by the universal language of music. This is underscored by a considerable achievement: the 80 plus concerts which they play each year are nearly all privately financed - a rarity in Europe. Regarded as one of the outstanding musicians of his generation, Piotr Anderszewski will join the orchestra as conductor and soloist for this concert. An exclusive artist with Virgin Classics since 2000, Anderszewski\'s first disc on the Virgin label was Beethoven\'s Diabelli Variations, a much-lauded recording which received a number of prizes including a Choc du Monde de la Musique and an ECHO Klassik award. His affinity with the music of his compatriot Szymanowski is captured in a highly-praised recording of the composer\'s solo piano works, which received the Classic FM Gramophone Award in 2006 for best instrumental disc. Anderszewski\'s collaborations with orchestras have included appearances with the Berlin Philharmonic, the Boston, Chicago and London Symphony orchestras, the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Royal Concertgebouw. Piotr Anderszewski has been singled out for several high profile awards throughout his career, including the prestigious Gilmore award, given every four years to a pianist of exceptional talent.
