Take a Beethoven night… The breakout star of Moldavia, Patricia Kopatchinskaja is guest of Is Sanat with her interpretation of Beethoven\'s Violin Concerto with Philippe Herreweghe and the Orchestre des Champs-Elysées which won a BBC Music Magazine Award in 2010. Patricia Kopatchinskaja, whose reading was described as the "best authentic version" by The Strad magazine, is one of the charming violinist of the new generation with a power of interpretation that gets beyond musical boundaries. In 2000, she won the international Szeryng-Competition in Mexico and in 2002 the prestigious International Credit Suisse Group Young Artist Award. Her 2008 recital recording with Fazil Say featuring Beethoven\'s Kreutzer Sonata as well as works by Ravel, Bartók and Say was honored with an ECHO-Klassik award. Devoted to the performance of music written from the mid XVIII to the early XX centuries played on the instruments that existed during the composer\'s lifetime, The Orchestre des Champs-Elysées will be led by Philippe Herreweghe who is remarkable for his energetic, authentic and rhetorical approach especially to baroque music. The artistic director and principal conductor of the orchestra, Herreweghe continually seeks out new musical challenges and is also in great demand as a guest conductor with orchestras such as Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Gewandhaus Orchestra in Leipzig and the Berlin-based Mahler Chamber Orchestra.
