Is Sanat is hosting Hiromi for the first time! Hiromi who started to learn classical piano at age of 6, played with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra at of 14 and performed with Chick Corea at 17, made a big impact on the jazz world with her debut album Another Mind which marked the beginning of a fascinating musical journey that has continued to gather momentum in the years since. With a virtuosic technique, energetic live performances and a blend of musical genres such as post-bop, progressive rock, classical and fusion in her compositions, Japanese keyboardist-composer has electrified audiences and critics on both hemispheres with a creative energy that defies the conventional parameters of jazz and pushes musicianship and composition to unprecedented levels of complexity and sophistication. After her multi- awarded albums Brain, Spiral, Time Control and Beyond Standard, Hiromi appeared on a two-disc live recording of a performance in Tokyo with pianist and mentor Chick Corea. Although a mesmerizing instrumentalist in her own right, she enlists the aid of two equally formidable players for this project – bassist Anthony Jackson and drummer Simon Phillips. Already having a specific and unique place in the music scene with her passionate and seditious music, Hiromi will charm jazz lovers in this concert.
