The prominent name of free jazz, saxophonist David Murray and Macy Gray, the glittering voice of R&B and Soul come together for a very special project at Is Sanat. Following their work within the musical project Questlove Afro-Picks in collaboration with Red Bull Music Academy, Macy Gray asked David Murray for her forthcoming new album Covered to rearrange a cover song from Kanye West. The idea of a Big Band was born from these two collaborations. Few months later David Murray finds the occasion to set up the ‘Blues Orchestra’ around James Blood Ulmer in Milan, rearranging some classical blues songs for a 17 musicians Big Band. This line-up and those songs are the cement for this new project, which Macy Gray is the central element. A unique voice combining with new arrangements of several classic blues tracks by David Murray, and some of the finest jazz & blues musicians shaped this new project. Stomping and Singin\' the Blues offers a delightful journey to the unique world of jazz music for jazz lovers.
