Cirque du Soleil Returns To Turkey With Alegria
A beacon of wonder and delight to millions of fans around the world, Cirque du Soleil’s magnificent sun will rise on Istanbul’s entertainment horizon once again this fall. Cirque du Soleil’s daring, challenging, creative acrobatic show Alegria, presented by Finansbank, will be performed by Cirque du Soleil: Alegria’s global cast at two different venues in Istanbul. Organized by Pozitif Live, the show will take place between September 22 – October 14 and for the very first time Alegria will be performed on two different continents while in the same city, as Istanbul straddles Asia and Europe.
Established in 1984 by a group of 20 street performers, Cirque du Soleil is the major globally renowned Quebec based performing arts troupe providing high-quality artistic entertainment. In 2011, the group showcased Saltimbanco for the first time in Turkey, which was a great success with 16 sold - out shows to nearly 80.000 viewers.

About Alegria:
A Spanish word for elation, joy and jubilation, Alegría features an international cast of 55 performers and musicians from 15 countries. Alegría has a baroque and operatic style with flamboyant costumes, original music performed live and an elaborate set that serves to enhance the astonishing spectacle of athleticism and artistry. The result is an impressive mix of skill, strength and speed combined with elegant, almost ethereal performances.
